GWater2 - NPC, Ragdoll, and Player Collision
Today I showcase (proper) ragdoll collision and (hopefully) improvements to the visuals (I need feedback on this!)
Ragdoll collision was a very heavily requested feature and took me 4 days of rewriting code. Was it worth it? Maybe.. Although I am very tired now.

In this video I am showcasing finished depth by rendering the particles 2 times, with the second pass using an additive texture (see top right). That texture is then used during rendering in absorption calculations. discord: discord.gg/xWvhfargMY

In this video I am showcasing an attempt at depth by rendering the particles 2 times, with the second pass using an additive texture. It is not fully implemented yet so you can see where the triangles are but the basic idea is there. In this video I showcase a fun chocolate fountain, one of the many things possible with gwater2! Just kidding... of course in all my videos I try and showcase something technical.. :) In this case I am showcasing temporal reprojection of surface normals. In previous videos, lighting would appear to "lag" a frame behind which created a very weird effect, which especially showed at low framerates...

You should make it so the liquid can push over objects, and make humans rag doll if it collides while moving fast enough. If that’s possible.

nice and also you should make the blood and water that is on players and npcs smaller
wouldnt making single water droplets (water that isnt connected to anything) invisible until it connects to something imporve the look, because the single water droplets are the only thing ruining the look

Only critique is that it still collides when you go into noclip. But I have to admit, the idea that you can't get away from the sticky liquid even in noclip is hilarious.

How is a gmod addon creator making better fluid dynamics than all of the gaming industry?
Fully simulated fluid dynamics are too computationally expensive to be used in traditional gaming. For example: killing floor 2 tried implementing simulated blood but got a lot of complaints about poor performance

i love how it starts to look less like blood and more like jam
I hope that it will become a tool soon, because, as I see it, it is very situational, and not everything that I can imagine can be done (now we have to build a reservoir for water particles to create a constant flow) and draining as an entity or tool will also be amazing, creating rivers and waterfalls will be much easier, and you will not need to remove ALL the particles.
I'll start messing with those kind of features eventually
